About Colette

Strategy

I have had a 20 year career in Communications and Brand Strategy and have worked across the world with businesses to connect them with their audience creatively and effectively.

My work has involved constant change; managing multiple stakeholders and projects concurrently, and problem solving across a spectrum of industries and audiences. So I had to be pretty adaptable!  I can join up a lot of dots between the big picture and the detail and I naturally shift between creative and strategic thinking.

I enjoy working with people as their Thinking Partner where we can tease out alternatives and support their strategic decisions.

Creativity

Alongside the professional success, I always had a hunger to flex my creativity.  I became a successful professional musician as a jazz singer, working in several bands, winning at Cork Jazz festival, creating shows, writing music, launching an album that gained critical acclaim (4.5 stars in Hot Press is my claim to fame!).

I know many professionals who have hidden talents they would secretly love to explore.  I love to support them on this.  It is not just fun; expressing different sides of yourself actually supports your whole self.  I know I showed up better in my professional  career when my creative side was given voice.

Creative expression in whatever form it takes is a way to develop genuine connections with people that energise us all.

Nature & Society

I am drawn to those who have a positive social impact.  I have led sustainability projects in Accenture, received an award from Dublin City Council for bringing the huge event, 'World Clean Up Day' to Dublin, produced and hosted Pod Net Zero podcast (here's a link) and I am on the Board of Directors of Leave No Trace, an environmental education organisation.  I believe it is a critical time to cherish nature and for business leaders to step up with initiatives that make a positive impact.

On a more personal note, connecting with nature enlivens us and develops our empathy.

Coaching

I took a sabbatical in 2014 to do a Masters in Social & Cognitive Psychology and I focused on how mindfulness influences creativity.  From there I became a qualified Transformational Coach in 2017 and have been working with clients ever since.

Leadership Coaching and Facilitation combines the benefits of a career in strategy with a greater capacity for genuine human connection and chance to make a positive impact.

Let's see how we can team up.
